Bridge Constructor App Reviews

Great Game… but

Runs super slow, like seriously, rediculously slow. I have tried every pixel setting there is and none of them seem to want to run fast. Froze up on me a couple times also. Most importantly this is one of those games that is frustrating to play with even the slightest lag. However, a very fun and addicting game!! If you have the patience. Love the ideas and many different types and styles of bridges you are able to build. I am playing on a 21 iMac 2012 with OS X Lion.

Good game for the kids.

Great way for them to learn about the strengths and weaknesses of different building materials, and how it is governed by the mighty dollar. It was cute to hear my five year old mention how a bridge in town must have been designed by Bridge Constructor.

Yay, temper tantrum generator

My son is currently throwing a huge fit because he has used the in game coins and it doesn’t seem to offer any opportunity to get more aside from paying more money. If I pay for a game, there should be a way to play it without spending more money. Other than that, a very good game.

This is not a kids game.

Good simulation of structural principles. Loads, stresses, etc are fairly accurate. Recommend for budding structural/mech engineers...

one of the best games ever, glitchy though.

This game is awesome. it reflects stress, tension, and compaction incredibly well. However, its a tad bit expensive, and is glitchy. for example. The ridge bridge 3. It is impossible to link cables to the support concrete thats given. the same can be said for nermerous levels where you must try to fight through glitches in order to get to the next level. For 10 bucks and such few levels i would expect a seemless playing experience

Excellent

This app reminds me of the old bridge physics programs I used in middle school. By no means an engineer, I enjoy the challenge of finidng solutions for physcial problems.

For $10.00

There should be a few more islands to bridge… but overall a nice alternative to the mundane games that arent a stepping stone to engineering...

TAMU

Good way to puy to practice civil engineering principles.

Fun game, but needs some work

Bridge Constructor is fun to play, but occasionally it freezes up between levels. Would also like the ability to turn off the sound in order to listen to music instead. Replay value is limited, the levels dont seem to have more than one good solution. But overall, its worth the money.

miffed

Rodges level 3 is unpassable you need to connect the cables to the right tower however it will not let you connect them tho the tower

Nice!

If you are a physics nerd… this is for you =)

Fun learning engineering basics

Cool game letting you learn about compression and suspension basics. Neat to see the stresses represented in color as the vehicles cross. Could use some better support to remove pieces if you are editing the bridge.

Keeps freezing and will lock up

Building bridges with the kids is great fun, but dealing with the random lockups and beachball of app death makes me wish I hadnt spent the $10.

Enjoyable but it tends to freeze after senerios are completed

At least it saves your progress before the freeze, but then it will often become non-responsive with the rotating sideways unmbrella of doom. Purchased it today and have experienced 7 freezes so far... the only app on my entire computer that does this by the way. Again, at least after relaunch I did not lose my progress, but this would have been a 5 star game if it was more stable.

Broken

As stated above, level 3 is unpassable due to glitch that prevents you from connecting cables to the towers on bridge 3. Since this actually prevents you from playing the rest of the game, and being that this is a $10 game, I have to give this 1 star until fixed.

Fun to play, Needs work

This game is fun for people who like puzzles or building games. Levels seem to have some variation in the way they can be solved but the challanging part is getting the trucks across. Replay value is in getting the trucks across your bridges. The problems come from the fact that the game hangs up while switching from the level to the world. Activity monitor shows the game is using 100.4% of the CPU. This is in a late 2012 Mac Mini, 3rd gen Core i5 at 2.5 Ghz and 4 GB of ram. I dont think a game with iPad like graphics should hang up a new computer which makes me belive the game is glitchy or has bugs. If they fix the bugs then I will rate higher.

great game please fix the ridge 3

the ridge 3 needs to be fixed the cables will not connect to the towers on the sides. PLEASE FIX!!!!!!!!!!!!

The longer you play, the slower it gets

It seems that the longer you play the longer the game takes to respond to a mouse-click. Theres something up there that really needs to be fixed. Im on a 27" iMac, 3.4GHz i7 with 16GB, so memory and speed should not be an issue. I love the game - but it really gets pretty unplayable after a while. As an aside - to those having problems attaching the cables - you can pan over by moving the mouse over to the edge of the screen, and if you pan a little you will find that you can attach those cables.

Holy Glitchy

Game is fun but jesus fix the crashing and glitches. Its almost unplayable after 15-20 mins since it loads the computer down so much. Get this straightened out.

Fun game but buggy and slow at times

Fun game. Good for learning a basic understanding of structures. Unfortunately, it is very slow sometimes and it is impossible to connect cables to the right tower on bridge 3 of "The Ridge" because it doesnt scroll far enough to the right or zoom out. It would be nice to have an update to fix this.
